Are you on Social Media?

In today’s digital world, having a social media presence is essential for organizations of all sizes, including the smallest ones. Whether it's a website, a Facebook page, or an Instagram account, these platforms serve as the primary way people discover and learn about businesses, services, or causes.

Without an online presence, an organization risks being invisible to potential customers or supporters who are searching online. A simple, well-maintained social media page can make a huge difference in attracting attention and establishing credibility.

Beyond visibility, social media allows small organizations to connect and engage directly with their audience.

It provides an easy way to share updates, promote events or products, respond to questions, and build a sense of community. Even limited activity on one or two platforms can make an organization appear more approachable and trustworthy. In a time where most people rely on the internet for information and communication, having a social media presence is not just useful—it’s a basic necessity.

Open a Facebook or an Instagram

Facebook

To open a Facebook account, start by going to www.facebook.com. On the homepage, fill out the sign-up form with your name, email or mobile number, password, birthday, and gender, then click "Sign Up." Facebook will then send a confirmation email or text to verify your information. After verification, your personal profile is ready. To create a page for your organization, click on the menu (grid icon), select "Page," and follow the prompts to name your page, select a category (like "Local Business" or "Nonprofit"), and add important details such as a profile photo, cover image, and contact info. Once published, you can invite others to follow your page, post updates, and engage with your audience.

Instagram

To create an Instagram page for your organization, first download the Instagram app from the App Store or Google Play Store, or visit www.instagram.com. Tap “Sign Up” and register with an email address or mobile number, or link your Facebook account for quicker setup. After creating your personal profile, go to settings, select “Account,” and choose “Switch to Professional Account” to set up a Business or Creator page. Follow the steps to choose your business category, add contact details, and connect to a Facebook Page if desired. Once your profile is ready, you can start posting content, adding a profile photo and bio, and using hashtags or location tags to reach more people.
