The research is in: Iowa has a water pollution problem. Big Ag has fouled our rivers, streams, and drinking water with nitrate and pesticides, and both are linked to increased cancer rates. Now, we’re demanding real solutions and action from lawmakers.

Food & Water Watch has a Blueprint for Clean Water in Iowa. Join us for a webinar on January 7 to learn about proposed legislation for the 2026 session. We’re putting forward new bills that would force Big Ag to clean up their act and have a measurable impact on water quality. Food & Water Watch attorney, Dani Replogle, will join us to discuss the legislation and our rationale.

The Iowa environmental movement is united by a campaign for a key piece of the Blueprint that would secure funding for the statewide water quality monitoring system. Iowans deserve to know the truth about what is in our water, and you can help make that happen this session!
